Valentines Day Emoticons
Expressing emotions online used to be a frustration to a lot of message writers unfamiliar with self-expression through writing. For instance, if a friend writes an apology online for failing to show up on an agreed rendezvous, and the message receiver simply writes back “Okay,” the friend has no way of knowing in what emotion the reply was sent back. But if the message receiver attaches a happy or funny emoticon, the friend gets a good idea of how the receiver feels. Online emoticons give heart and character to online messages.
